SURGICAL CLINIC
Central interdisciplinary endoscopy
As Head Endoscopy Nurse at ZIE (Central Interdisciplinary Endoscopy), I am responsible for the functional management of endoscopy.
The ZIE, which I manage in a nursing capacity, emerged from the oldest and first independent endoscopy department in Germany. The interdisciplinarity of the department is based on the alliance between the Vice General Medical Center of the Second Medical Clinic and the Surgical Clinic.
Together we offer a wide range of highly specialized endoscopic diagnostic examinations and therapeutic interventions. Optimum teamwork between all the staff involved is of fundamental importance in my environment and we are constantly working on this.
The nursing activities in endoscopy are characterized in particular by the collegial cooperation between the individual professional groups and disciplines. We are constantly optimizing our work processes and familiarizing ourselves with new techniques, and the team receives further training through endoscopy specialist training, internal and external further training and courses.
Open communication and respectful interaction with each other, setting goals and making joint decisions contribute to team satisfaction.
In this way, we work on progress every day and enjoy developing our skills in dealing with patients from 0-100 years and the ever-increasing performance in endoscopy. Personally, it is important to me to pass on the knowledge I have acquired over the years to the next generation and to set an example.
