A general visiting ban has been in place at Mannheim University Hospital since November 16, 2020. In addition, patients with and without COVID-19 are strictly separated from each other. Special isolation and index wards have been set up for this purpose, and mandatory testing, a general mask requirement and the visiting ban have also been introduced. All of these measures have been closely coordinated with the health department of the city of Mannheim.
In the current situation of the coronavirus pandemic, procedures that are not highly urgent from a medical point of view or represent a life-threatening medical emergency currently have to be postponed. Patients whose planned procedure has to be postponed will be informed directly by the clinic treating them. Only highly urgent illnesses can currently be diagnosed and treated in the outpatient clinics.
We therefore ask for your understanding.
