Aromatherapy (in Nursing) courses at Mannheim University Hospital
We have been running aromatherapy nursing courses at the UMM since 2018, which are very popular both internally and externally. We have expanded our range of courses from 2024 and, in addition to highly qualified nursing experts, offer you high-quality teaching materials such as textbooks and workbooks tailored to the courses with exercises and much more for individual learning alongside the course. The aromatherapy nursing courses are run entirely by the team from the Nursing Development Department.
What is Aromatherapy (in Nursing)?
Aromatherapy (in Nursing) refers to the professional use of essential oils, plant waters, alcohol extracts and fatty plant oils.
The aim of Aromatherapy (in Nursing) is to improve the general well-being and quality of life of patients. Aromatherapy (in Nursing) is used in combination with other complementary nursing methods, e.g. basal stimulation in the form of rubs or washes as well as wraps and compresses.

The use of Aromatherapy (in Nursing) offers nursing staff the opportunity to provide patients with more individual, personal and holistic nursing. Careful training is particularly important in the field of Aromatherapy (in Nursing)
The UMM Academy has therefore been offering training courses in Aromatherapy (in Nursing) since 2019. The course concept consists of a basic and advanced course, each consisting of two parts or days. The practical training of trainees in the nursing professions is mapped via the central practical guidance. Regular newsletters inform the trained colleagues about news in the field of Aromatherapy (in Nursing).
