Anesthesia care

The Department of Anesthesia Nursing at the UMM looks after all the surgical clinics in the hospital. There are a wide variety of anesthesia requirements in the various operating theaters of the hospital.

From newborns to very elderly patients, we work with all age groups. We accompany intensive nursing patients during vital operations, but we are also an important part of the anesthesia team for minor procedures with regional anesthesia. Even before the operation, we take care of our patients' fears and questions, ensure their safety and comfort and thus contribute to the success of the operation.

In our recovery rooms, we look after patients after operations until they are stable and pain-free enough to be transferred to the peripheral ward. Our team consists of almost 70 employees. Together with the medical service, we work in a shift system in a total of 26 operating theaters.

We look after patients on peripheral wards in the acute pain service and our field service team accompanies diagnostics and procedures outside the operating theater, throughout the hospital and even in the Mannheim Central Institute. These different requirements and our high degree of flexibility are what make our work and our team special.
