CLUSTER 2 - DC-OP
The OP Cluster 2 comprises the 3 areas of pediatric surgery, urology and surgery.
Operative spectrum of pediatric surgery:
We care for the very youngest patients through to young adults. Our spectrum includes traumatology, urology, visceral and thoracic surgery as well as hand surgery. The children's clinic has received numerous awards, e.g. for ECMO/CDH operations and as the region's burns center.
Surgical spectrum of urology:
We perform open operations such as cystectomies/kidney operations as well as robot-assisted minimally invasive prostatectomies and kidney operations. We also perform transurethral operations and gender reassignment surgery for transsexualism.
Operative spectrum of surgery:
We operate in 9 theaters with currently around 40 employees. Thanks to our diverse spectrum, every day is varied and we are always learning new surgical techniques, which makes our profession exciting.

Head of Department
Julia Müller: I started my training as an OTA in the OP in 2007 and have been at UMM since 2016.
I have been Head of Department in Cluster 2 since 2022. Having worked in this great team myself for many years, I know my staff well and can communicate with them on an equal footing. It is important to me that optimal patient care is guaranteed through optimal cooperation in all areas.
Head of Pediatric Surgery
Hannah Ehrke: I completed my training as an OTA at the UMM and have been part of the pediatric surgery team since 2019. The special thing about this area is working with children, which is a great challenge. For me, the patient is always the focus and every operation is individual.
Head of Urology Department
Johannes Huber: I completed my training as an OTA at the UMM in 2017 and have been with the hospital ever since. In 2021, I became head of the Urology OP department. The friendly working atmosphere and the structured processes and standards make the department a pleasant place to work.
