IOZ DC-OP

The somewhat different OP area.

We are an independent operating theater that is part of the DC OP. Interdisciplinary surgery is performed in three operating theaters at the KTZ.
We are home to general surgery, bariatric surgery, rectal surgery, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology and neurosurgery.
What makes us special is that we have our own patient registration and our own recovery room.
Our patients walk to the operating theater on their own and, in complicated cases, leave in a wheelchair to be taken to the ward or go straight home again.

Our team currently consists of 19 people, ranging from MFAs to OTAs. We are divided into registration, anesthesia nursing and OP nursing. We help each other out and work hand in hand to provide the best possible patient nursing from premedication right through to leaving the operating theater.
