GERIATRY
Early rehabilitation focus area
The geriatric ward 37-2 has 20 beds.
In order to provide our patients with the best possible nursing, it is important to work together in an interdisciplinary team of physiotherapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists and other professional groups. We focus on early rehabilitation, geriatric complex treatment, nursing for dementia patients and patients with delirium.
Basal stimulation, validation and seeing and caring for the patient as a whole are very important to us, and we also provide intensive advice to patients' relatives.
The geriatrics management team: Tanja and Beate, a bundle of: Passion, spontaneity, self-confidence, energy, resilience, great perseverance, assertiveness, determination, empathy and also tenacity.
We are the leaders of geriatrics, we work with heart, soul and mind in geriatric medicine. We have made geriatric medicine our profession thanks to our many years of experience and many further and advanced training courses in this specialist area. This is exactly what makes us managers. It is important to us to lead our highly qualified team as role models. We adapt to the needs of our team members in order to encourage, support and motivate each individual. We are on an equal footing with our team, the nursing staff and close to our employees. This enables us to deal well with challenging situations. We promote the self-confidence of our employees so that they can learn to make decisions and develop freely in their profession. Our team is encouraged to contribute ideas and suggestions to the daily work routine, to work together, to support and help each other and to openly express suggestions for improvement as well as criticism. Together as a team, we have overcome turbulent and stressful times. Our field of work is very demanding and challenging, which is why it is important to us as a management team to accompany and support our employees in every respect.
We are strong decision-makers. The guidelines and specifications are always taken into account and adhered to. Our door is open to employees so that they can approach us with any issues and concerns.
What makes us leaders is that we lead our team with passion. We make decisions when they need to be made and implement them together with the team. Our employees can organize their day-to-day work independently and on their own responsibility. We lead our team through good times, but also through stressful times, and this also supports us. We are certainly passionate about caring for geriatric patients with a wonderful team and fantastic employees, and we also enjoy expanding our leadership skills.
