Pediatric clinic

My name is Katja Sprengart, I qualified in 2016 and have been working in pediatric oncology and haematology at the UMM since then. Since 2019, I have been working 50% of my time as a central practice supervisor in the children's hospital.

For me, practice guidance means working with the future, because trainees are our future and indispensable in our profession. My aim and aspiration is not only to demonstrate nursing activities, but also to prepare the trainees for the demands of the ward and everyday life. I also want to highlight the trainees' individual strengths and weaknesses and work with them on these. It is important to me not "just" to instruct, but to be a supporter and to assist the trainees with any questions or problems they may have.

My philosophy is that by providing good training and guidance, we create the colleagues of tomorrow who enjoy working with us in a team and vice versa. That's why it's important to me to be a good central practical instructor so that the trainees receive the most instructive training possible and enjoy staying in the profession. I also see myself as a link between theory and practice, so that together we can transfer theoretical knowledge into practice.
